Erlass

An Erlass means the authority waives a debt fully or partly, so you no longer have to pay it. It is granted only in cases of severe hardship and requires a written application with full proof of your financial situation. It is rare — Stundung or Ratenzahlung are approved far more often, so consider those too.

What it means

An Erlass means the authority waives a debt fully or partly, so you no longer have to pay it. It is granted only in cases of severe hardship and requires a written application with full proof of your financial situation. It is rare — Stundung or Ratenzahlung are approved far more often, so consider those too.

As it appears in letters
