What it means
Court-ordered legal support for adults who cannot manage their own affairs due to illness or disability: the Betreuungsgericht appoints a Betreuer for defined areas such as finances or health. It is not the same as childcare, which is also called Betreuung colloquially. You can largely avoid it by setting up a Vorsorgevollmacht in advance.
