Niederlassungserlaubnis

The permanent settlement permit — an unlimited right to live and work in Germany. It typically requires five years with a residence permit (less for some groups such as skilled workers, Blue Card holders or graduates), a secure income, pension contributions and German at B1 level. Unlike a normal permit it never needs renewal, and it is a common step before Einbürgerung.

In plain German

Das unbefristete Aufenthaltsrecht: Sie dürfen dauerhaft in Deutschland bleiben.
